About me

Sarah Sloan, counsellor

Hi. My name is Sarah. I am a counsellor, trained in person-centred therapy and currently training in CBT. I am a registered member of the BACP.

I have always had a passion for helping people shown through years of volunteering in various organisations. I have always wanted to help people understand their feelings and help them find a way forward that works for them, whatever difficulty they are having and 6 years ago I started my journey to become a counsellor to do just that.

My approach

I listen. I work within the person-centred modality, utilising the three core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard to foster a non-judgemental space. In person-centred counselling, you are the expert in you.

My role in our therapeutic relationship is to facilitate your journey by exploring your thoughts and feelings and whatever you want to bring into our therapeutic space, not to give advice or tell you what to do. I prefer working face to face so we can focus on you and avoid any distractions.

The sessions are 50 minutes in length, about you, for you. This helps us to explore together to help you find the solutions you are looking for.

I work with adults, 18 years and above.

The main agendas I work with are:

  • Loss
  • Grief
  • Bereavement
  • Anxiety
  • Stress

If you would be interested in working together or would like to know more, please email me on sarahsloancounselling@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible within working hours.
